About me
Halley Kirk is the Gifted and Talented Specialist and SALTA Program Coordinator in Canyons School District and brings a unique perspective to education. Her journey began with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and Philosophy and a stint in Washington DC, laying the foundation for her global outlook and critical thinking skills.
Driven by her passion for education, Halley earned a Master’s degree in Teaching from Westminster University, further solidifying her commitment to the field. She has taught in various settings, including the SALTA Gifted and Talented Program, Glendale Middle School in Salt Lake City School District, and Butler Elementary, where she taught 5th and 6th grades. Halley also holds endorsements in Gifted & Talented, Educational Technology, Instructional Coaching, and ESL.
Halley is passionate about fostering deep conversations among students, helping them make critical connections, and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and think at more complex levels. However, Halley’s dedication to her students extends beyond academic achievement. She believes in creating a safe and respectful classroom environment that nurtures her students' social and emotional development, ensuring they grow not just as students, but as individuals.
