Gretchen Zaitzeff is the District Library Media Specialist for Canyons School District in Sandy, Utah, and the President of the Utah School Library Association (USLA). She is deeply committed to professional learning, instructional leadership, and literacy, actively supporting library educators in creating dynamic, future-ready library programs. A graduate of Brigham Young University’s Communications program with an emphasis in video production, she is also a passionate advocate for the integration of visual media, including graphic novels and digital storytelling, to enhance student engagement and comprehension in classrooms and libraries. Through professional development and resource curation, Gretchen empowers educators to leverage visual media as a tool for critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences while supporting their understanding and adherence to copyright, ensuring that educators and students can ethically and legally use digital and print mediums to tell their stories.
