About me
Amy has dedicated the past 24 years to education in various capacities, starting as a middle and high school ESL and Spanish teacher, then serving as a Culture and Equity Coordinator. Currently, she is a Teacher Specialist for Canyons School District in Sandy, Utah. Throughout her career, Amy has been committed to not only educating youth but also advocating for educational equity and empowering students to succeed. Her goal extends beyond the classroom, as she strives to empower teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to feel confident in serving Multilingual Learners (MLs) and fostering inclusive environments where every student can thrive.
Amy earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Wyoming and her Master's degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from Colorado Mesa University. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.
