Vision

In Canyons School District, we believe that all stakeholders benefit from purposeful technology integration within the learning process, focusing on student achievement. Educational technology will be used to empower teachers, students, and other stakeholders to gain the knowledge and skills needed to adapt, create, consume, and connect responsibly and ethically with the broader world in preparation for meaningful life opportunities.

Read It and Reap: Incentivizing Teen Readers Without Losing Rigor explores how secondary ELA teachers can boost student motivation and independent reading without sacrificing academic depth. This session highlights the creative use of Beanstack, a digital reading challenge platform, to track progress, encourage goal-setting, and celebrate reading milestones. Participants will see examples of how educators integrate Beanstack into their curriculum to align with learning goals, foster authentic reading habits, and celebrate student growth. Walk away with practical strategies to engage reluctant readers, promote reading accountability, and cultivate a culture of joyful, purposeful reading in secondary classrooms.
