AI is no longer a distant concept that may one day impact our students' lives—it's here, and it's already shaping the world around them. If we don't prepare students to use AI ethically and thoughtfully, we're failing to equip them for the future. The key focus must be on ethics: AI should never replace the core skills of learning, critical thinking, or creativity. Instead of asking, "Will this use of AI make my life easier?" students should be asking, "Will this use of AI make me smarter or better?" We need to guide them in leveraging AI to enhance their growth, not to avoid the hard work of thinking and problem-solving.

From there, we'll tackle common questions around the District's media use policy, accessibility, the Swank streaming platform, and what teachers need to know about copyright, fair use, and Creative Commons.
